FACADE DETAILS

Coastal Duplex Facade

This coastal-inspired duplex facade brings a refined, contemporary aesthetic to two homes side by side, balancing clean architectural lines with natural textures for a look that feels both relaxed and sophisticated. The crisp white exterior creates a light and airy presence, reflecting the easy character often associated with coastal living, while the mirrored composition gives each residence its own identity within a single, cohesive street presence.

The upper level of each home is defined by simple geometric gable forms, softened by vertical timber screening that adds warmth, privacy and visual depth between the two dwellings. These timber elements introduce a natural material palette that reinforces the home’s connection to its environment, without ever feeling overdone or trend-driven. Sweeping curved balconies mirror one another across the facade, softening the strong geometric lines above and giving each residence a graceful, welcoming form at first-floor level.

At ground level, a combination of textured stone cladding and subtle masonry detailing provides richness and durability. A central stone feature pier rises through both storeys between the two entries, anchoring the design and marking the shared threshold where the two homes meet. On either side, a recessed timber entry door creates its own focal point, giving each residence a clear, considered arrival while remaining part of the one unified composition.

Together, these elements come together in a design built on quality materials and balanced proportions, ensuring the duplex’s street appeal remains just as compelling for years to come — for both homes, and both households.

Lounge

A warm, grounded living space anchored by a dramatic stone fireplace surround that runs floor to ceiling. Exposed timber beams overhead add rhythm and a sense of relaxed structure, while sheer linen drapery softens the large windows and floods the room with natural light. The low, deep bouclé sofa and sculptural boucle armchair bring tactile comfort, paired with a sculptural round stone coffee table that feels both organic and refined. A textured wool rug underfoot ties the warm timber tones together, creating a space that feels calm, inviting, and quietly luxurious.
